Located in the heart of the chic Marylebone in London, the 5 stars Portman Square Nobu Hotel proposes 249 suites and rooms, as well as the Nobu Restaurant, Nobu Bar and The Lounge Restaurant & Bar.
Simon Rawlings, Creative Director of David Collins Studio entrusted Fabienne L’Hostis with the Bar and Restaurant decoration, with her Raku ceramic tiles. In depth research of the Japanese art and workmanship was an integral part of the conception process, exploring architecture, and motifs of traditional panels.
The bar is dressed in a Raku mosaic and three essences of wood. The bar top is composed solely of Raku tiles. 4 brass & glass columns anchor the bar in the center of the room. Fabienne L’Hostis used their technical prowess to ensure that each piece molds itself to the woodwork. Dimensions 4,59 m x 3,75 m.
260 Raku tiles in « indigo or Japan blue », a colour created specifically for this project, dress the walls under the ceiling of the Hotel Bar.
Lighting 1 m x 0,2 m made of brass, Raku & glass.
